Alunos de escolas públicas e privadas podem participar da competição

Escolas públicas e privadas de todo o país têm até o dia 17 de março para fazer a inscrição na 20ª Olimpíada Brasileira de Matemática das Escolas Públicas (Obmep). Considerada a maior competição científica do Brasil, a olimpíada é voltada para alunos do 6º ano do ensino fundamental ao 3º ano do ensino médio.
Para participar, as escolas devem acessar o site www.obmep.org.br, preencher a ficha de inscrição disponível, informar o código MEC/INEP e criar uma senha de acesso. No regulamento, estão disponíveis informações sobre condições, prazos, datas e regras previstas para participação na competição.
Todos os anos a Obmep reúne mais de 18 milhões de estudantes. Criada pelo Instituto de Matemática Pura e Aplicada (Impa) em 2005, a competição é promovida com recursos do Ministério da Ciência, Tecnologia e Inovação (MCTI) e do Ministério da Educação (MEC). Neste ano, a olimpíada comemora 20 anos.
Provas
A competição tem duas fases. A primeira fase é uma prova objetiva de 20 questões, que será aplicada em 3 de junho. Já a segunda fase é voltada para os classificados na primeira etapa, que fazem uma prova discursiva de seis questões, em 25 de outubro.
As questões são preparadas de acordo com o grau de escolaridade do aluno. O nível 1 é voltado para o 6º e 7º ano do ensino fundamental; o nível 2, para o 8º e 9º ano do ensino fundamental; e, o nível 3, para o ensino médio.
A divulgação dos aprovados para a segunda etapa será feita em 1º de agosto e a divulgação dos premiados em 22 de dezembro.
Premiação
A Obmep vai distribuir 8.450 medalhas nacionais: 650 de ouro, 1.950 de prata e 5.850 de bronze, além de 51 mil certificados de menção honrosa.
Os alunos premiados nacionalmente são convidados a participar do Programa de Iniciação Científica Jr. (PIC), voltado para o incentivo e promoção do desenvolvimento acadêmico. Os participantes de escolas públicas receberão uma bolsa de R$ 300.
Serão distribuídas ainda 20,5 mil medalhas estaduais para os alunos com os melhores desempenhos em cada estado.
Os professores também serão homenageados. Ao todo, 969 professores serão premiados e irão receber, além de diploma e livro de apoio, uma medalha de ouro especial. Os professores premiados vão concorrer ainda a oito viagens.
