Brumado mais uma vez se destacou no cenário esportivo estadual e nacional ao conquistar sete medalhas no Campeonato “Bahia Open” de Pickleball, realizado no último fim de semana em Porto Seguro. O evento, promovido pela Confederação Brasileira de Pickleball e pela Federação Bahiana de Pickleball, reuniu atletas de 17 Estados brasileiros.
Entre os destaques da delegação brumadense está o atleta Lúcio Estrela, que garantiu o ouro nas categorias Duplas Masculinas Iniciantes e Single Iniciante (1×1). Ao todo, Brumado faturou duas medalhas de ouro, duas de prata e três de bronze, consolidando sua força na modalidade.
Esporte inclusivo e em expansão
Introduzido em Brumado em 2022, o Pickleball – esporte de raquete jogado em quadra reduzida – tem ganhado popularidade por sua acessibilidade e caráter inclusivo. Praticado por pessoas de todas as idades, o esporte já conta com estrutura gratuita nas quadras da Fadesb (Fundação de Assistência e Desenvolvimento Social de Brumado), Cetib (Colégio Estadual de Tempo Integral de Brumado) e Clube Social, Cultural e Recreativo de Brumado, onde iniciantes têm acesso a equipamentos e orientação.
“Este evento foi muito importante para promover o intercâmbio esportivo com atletas de todo o país. Vamos continuar investindo no desenvolvimento do Pickleball em nossa cidade”, afirmou Paulo Esdras Oliveira da Silva Júnior, u, dos responsáveis por introduzir a modalidade em Brumado e um dos seus mais fervorosos incentivadores, que foi um dos medalhistas da equipe brumadense no Bahia Open.
Prática gratuita e categorias diversas
Com raquetes específicas, bola perfurada e regras dinâmicas, o Pickleball oferece categorias para juvenis, adultos e adultos 50+, promovendo inclusão e saúde por meio do esporte.
